Complexe Culturel Al-Zahraa
If St Paul’s Cathedral depicts presence of Christian majority, Complexe Culturel Al-Zahraa located in Marcory depicts Muslims in Abidjan. It is marvelous piece of architecture. The structure seems to be highly influenced by Art of Middle East rather than being traditional Cote D’Ivoiran one.
The Complex is financed by Lebanese Community of Abidjan probably reason for its Middle Eastern touch. Its golden dome sparkles in sunlight making it a landmark within the city.
Interior of the Mosque |
Inside the complex at ground floor there is a Mosque where Men and Women have separate compartments to offer their prayers.
Interior is fabulously decorated in consonance with religious zeal. A shop of souvenirs is also located inside the complex along with the office of the administrator.
A very good job indeed....
